Description
The "Language Course A1.1-Beginner" is suitable for students with no previous knowledge. The course teaches basic knowledge of the German language.
Everyday conversations and situations (greeting and presentation, nationality and language, addresses and numbers, etc.), and basic knowledge of German grammar and vocabulary are taught.
Development of vocabulary focuses on descriptions of people, hobbies and interests, signpost and time, food and drink, leisure activities and numbers.
Grammar focuses on questions, pronouns, sentence construction, (in) definite articles, present and imperative verbs.
The course takes place once a week and covers a total of 60 hours. It is designed in such a way that the participants complete the first level (A1.1.) according to the European Framework in one semester.
Regular and active participation is a prerequisite for successful completion of the course. This also requires the completion of homework in order to continue practicing and consolidating what has been learned in the classroom.

Description
The language course "German A2.1" is suitable for students with previous beginner knowledge. In this course, the knowledge acquired in the basic course A1 will be expanded.
The basic knowledge of German grammar and vocabulary is to be developed on the basis of everyday conversations and situations.
Development of vocabulary focuses on food, school time, media, feelings, occupation and travel.
Acquiring and practicing skills in understanding an image history, writing a commentary about a film / book, writing and understanding blogs, preparing and conducting a telephone conversation, describing statistics, etc.
Grammar focuses on possessive pronouns in the dative, modal verbs in the preterite, reflexive verbs, positional verbs, alternating prepositions, the verb "become", local prepositions and verbs with prepositions, comparative and superlative "als", "wie", subordinate clauses with "weil, wie, dass", adjectives with the indefinite and definite article, and indirect questions.
The course takes place once a week and covers a total of 60 hours. It is designed in such a way that the participants complete the second level (A2.1.) According to the European Framework in one semester.

Description
The German course B1.1 is suitable for students who have completed an A2 course. This course deals with the teaching of intermediate knowledge of the German language in the four areas of listening, speaking, reading and writing. Grammar, pronunciation and intonation, as well as the appropriation of a linguistic repertoire are used in the form of stock phrases and vocabulary.
Everyday conversation topics and situations include (people, friendship, heroes, fortune, apartments, hotels, health, food, leisure, adventure and learning) and basic knowledge of German grammar, vocabulary and speaking are taught.
Grammar focuses on verbs and additions, declension of nouns, n-declension, declension of adjectives, comparative and superlative, connectors in causal-, concessive- and consecutive sentences, infinitive with and without "to" and modal verbs.
The course focuses on active language usage. Grammatical topics as well as everyday and special speaking situations are repeated through discussions, presentations and learning games.
The course takes place once a week and covers a total of 60 hours. It is designed in such a way that the participants complete the B1.1 according to the European Framework of Reference in one semester.
Regular and active participation is a prerequisite for successful completion of the course. This also requires the completion of homework in order to continue practicing and consolidating what has been learned in the classroom.

Description
The language course "German B2.1" is suitable for students with intermediate knowledge (at least B1.2). The course consolidates the knowledge of German at lower levels and expands on previous complex content.
Students expand their means of communication and deepen their understanding of grammar on the basis of abstract and partly controversial conversations. The focus of the course is also the expansion of vocabulary and written expression.
The following work techniques and strategies are introduced and practiced:
• Taking notes and writing down information
• Compiling arguments for a text
• Writing a CV
• Assigning headers
Vocabulary focuses on multicultural society and integration, living together in a society, living in Germany, small talk and professions.
Grammar emphasizes sentence formation, negation in the sentence, connectors, pronouns and comparative sentences with als and wie, je..., desto/umso.
The course takes place once a week and covers a total of 60 hours. It is designed in such a way that participants complete level B2.1 according to the European Framework of Reference.
The combined coursebook and workbook "Aspects new B2, part 2" cover chapters 1 to 5.

The language course C1.1. Is suitable for students with advanced knowledge or have completed the B2.2 course.
Language skills (reading, writing, listening, speaking) are trained and further developed in the worlds of work, business, media and language.
Grammatical structures, bound to topics and language studies, are expanded, extended and deepened according to communicative needs.
The main focus of the grammar is on connectors, separable and inseparable verbs, alternatives to indirect speech, nominal and verbal style (causal clauses, modal clauses, concessions, finals clauses), subject and object clauses, additional addenda (what, why, ...) and negative concessions.
In addition, the following learning strategies and work techniques are introduced and practiced:
• Identify similarities in statements and utterances and textual connections
• Examination speaking
• Work with a writing plan
• Extemporaneous speaking
The course takes place daily and is designed in such a way that the participants complete the first level (C1.1) according to the European Framework of Reference.

The "Campus Deutsch – Hören und Mitschreiben" course is suitable for students at the C1 level (based on Common European Framework of Reference for Languages). The course can also be taken by students with a B2-level through the addition of small-scale exercises and extensive pre-utilization of tasks.
The course is aimed at students who are transitioning from general language education to language for specific purposes.
Short description: Economical writing in lectures, as well as active, structured listening of scientific lectures and discussions.
The book "Hören und Mitschreiben" is devoted to the use of five authentic lectures to enable students to follow scientific lectures independently, so that these lectures can be recapitulated using the notes. In the basic chapter, basic techniques of active and predictive listening as well as significant writing techniques are taught. In the following chapters, these techniques are expanded and deepened. The lectures of well-known scientists and a science journalist are taken from the series "Aula" of the "Südwestrundfunk".
The course is worth 2 SWS. Regular and active participation is required for successful completion of the course. This includes the completion of homework in order to continue practicing and consolidating what has been learned in the classroom.

The focus of this course is on presenting scientific content and having a discussion. Following the book the course is divided into three sections. Students will learn and demonstrate the basic principles of presenting, the different forms of discussions, and techniques for moderating discussions. Description
Der Sprachkurs „Grammatik fit“ ist für Studierende geeignet, die einen B1-Kurs absolviert haben und ihre Grammatikkenntnisse sichern und vertiefen möchten, bevor sie einen B2-Kurs besuchen. Es geht vordergründig um die Wiederholung von Grammatik der Mittelstufe (B1), aber es werden auch grundlegende Grammatikthemen der Stufe A2 wiederholt.
Anhand von alltäglichen Themen und Situationen sowie vielen Übungen sollen die Grammatikkenntnisse gefestigt werden. Die Schwerpunkte der Grammatik bilden: Zeitformen, Satzbau, Präpositionen, Verben mit und ohne Präpositionen, Modalverben, Adjektivdeklination, Komparativ und Superlativ, reflexive Verben, Relativsätze, Pronomen, Konjunktiv II, Infinitiv mit und ohne zu, Finalsätze. Je nach Bedarf kann die Grammatik um weitere Themen ergänzt werden.
Der Kurs findet einmal wöchentlich statt und umfasst insgesamt 30 Stunden. Der Kurs beginnt erst am 26.09.2017. Die ersten beiden Termine (26.09. und 10.10.) sowie der 24.10. finden vierstündig statt (16 bis 20 Uhr). Alle anderen Termine (17.10. und 07.11. bis 19.12.) finden zweistündig statt (18-20 Uhr).
Eine regelmäßige und aktive Teilnahme ist Voraussetzung für das Absolvieren des Kurses. Dafür ist ebenfalls das Erledigen von Hausaufgaben notwendig, um das Gelernte weiter zu üben und zu festigen.
Am letzten Kurstag (19.12.) wird eine Abschlussklausur geschrieben.
