Description

The Chinese A1.1 course is suitable for students with no previous knowledge of the Chinese language. The course teaches basic knowledge of Chinese language and writing.

The basic knowledge of Chinese grammar, vocabulary (and writing) is taught through everyday conversations and situations (welcome and introduction, nationality and language, addresses and numbers). The following topics are covered in the development of word fields: traveling in China, introduction of persons to each other (name, nationality, profession or course of study, place of origin, family), hobbies/interests, and time. An important part of the course is the learning of everyday Chinese culture. The grammar focus is on learning the phonetic transcription (pin Yin), basic knowledge of Chinese characters, pronunciation, basic vocabulary and sentence formation (sentences, questions of questions, prompts). Oral communication is at the center of instruction. In an active and pleasant teaching environment, the participants will develop a feeling for the Chinese language within a semester, thereby developing self-awareness in real communicative situations.

This course provides a basis for the participants to be able to continue with course guidance or through self study.
