Description
The language course "Chinese A1.1" is suitable for students without previous knowledge. It is primarily about teaching the first basic knowledge of the Chinese language and writing.
On the basis of everyday conversation topics and situations (greeting and introduction; nationality and language; addresses and numbers) basic knowledge of Chinese grammar, vocabulary (and writing) should be taught. In the development of word fields, topics are dealt with which one encounters in China on journeys, at work and in everyday life: Presentation of people, introducing each other (names, nationality, profession or study course, place of origin, family), hobbies and interests, directions and time. An important part of the course is getting to know Chinese everyday culture. The grammar focuses on: learning phonetic writing (Pin Yin), basic knowledge of Chinese characters, pronunciation, basic vocabulary and sentence formation (statements, questions, requests). Oral communication is at the centre of the lessons. In an active and pleasant teaching atmosphere the participants will develop a feeling for the Chinese language within one semester and thereby develop self-confidence in real communicative situations.
In this course, a basis is laid for the participants to be able to continue learning with course guidance or autodidactically.

Description
The Chinese A1.2 course is suitable for participants who have successfully completed the A1.1 course and would like to expand their knowledge.
In this course the students learn the corresponding vocabulary, phrases and grammatical structures based on the topics "Chinese food culture" and "family". Upon successful completion of the advanced course, participants can confidently order, buy and pay in Chinese in a restaurant. We will also learn how to arrange the time and place of a meeting with friends. In contrast to the beginner's course, the advanced course will use Chinese script - the learning of characters - as well as pronunciation and free communication.
The participants will learn the systematics of the characters and practice reading and writing the characters of the learning units. At the same time, participants will learn the input method, which enables them to write Chinese characters on the computer.
