Pictured above: Demonstration against border controls in Kruså

Under the motto "Die Politiker überschreiten die Grenze – wir überqueren sie" ("Politicians have crossed the line--now we cross them") about 250 people gathered at the German-Danish border in Kruså on 24 April, 2016, to protest against the border controls that had been re-introduced at start of the year. During the march, which started at the Padborg railway station and continued along the border through the forest to Kruså, demonstrators gave speeches in different languages against European immigration policy. No identity checks were done as the protesters crossed from Germany to Denmark, but the border was immediately closed by Danish and German police officers due to the presence of the demonstrators.
