Studies & Teaching

In particular, the education in the Department of Industrial-Organizational Psychology pursues three objectives:

  1. First of all, the students should understand the role of human beings within the economic activity and be able to influence the latter. Thus, an unsatisfactory performance may be a sign of low motivation or insufficient qualification or any significant organizational problems at work lead to performance reductions and to psychological stresses in the long run. The target of the degree course in industrial-organizational psychology is to recognize and be able to differentiate this.
  2. Secondly, the students should learn to practically implement the theoretical models and concepts and to accompany and monitor this implementation.
  3. Thirdly, social skills are imparted in order to also implement the knowledge gained for the own behavior.

The teaching sessions are part of the international degree courses. Moreover, teaching sessions for any further degree courses (e.g. within the field of health psychology, economy/politics or vocational education) are offered.
