Information about the feedback on the Deutschlandstipendium

All applicants who submit their application by the deadline will receive feedback. There are three types of feedback: 1) "Bewillingungsbescheid" (notification that your application was approved) 2) "Nominierung für die Rachrückerliste" (notification that you have been nominated for the substitute list), or 3) "Absage" (notification that your application was rejected).

What does this feedback mean to you?

The notification of approval means that you have successfully completed the application process and will receive a scholarship of 300.00 euros per month for the twelve-month funding period. For the funding period, which covers Fall Semester 2022 and Spring Semester 2023, a total of 34 scholarship holders will be selected from all eligible applications submitted before the deadline.

For the selection, your application will be based on a base value, which results from the aforementioned and duly documented weighted scholastic and/or academic achievements. Bonus points may be added to the basic value through proven voluntary commitment and/or special study-relevant achievements and/or special challenges. The total value of an application is calculated from the basic value minus the bonus points achieved.

This process enables us to a total score calculated for all eligible applications, which in turn results in a ranking. The applications with the lowest total values will receive the Deutschlandstipendium.

For you, a nomination for the substitute list means that you still have the chance to receive one of the advertised Deutschlandstipendien within the current fall semester or in the upcoming spring semester. This is the case if, for example, a scholarship recipient withdraws from or ends their university studies.

In such cases, the remaining available financial resources may be awarded to a substitute. Please note that being nominated for the substitute list does not guarantee that you will receive a scholarship. The list was created using the same procedure as the ranking of scholarship recipients. In the event of a premature termination, a substitute scholarship holder will be found in accordance with the rankings received.

We will inform you in due course.

A rejection means that unfortunately you will not receive a Deutschlandstipendium during the funding period, which includes the current fall semester and the upcoming spring semester. The reasons for this can be many and varied. Basically, the procedure is regulated by the Guidelines for Awarding the Deutschlandstipendium at Europa-Universität Flensburg -Scholarship Guidelines-:

The base score on which your application is based, as determined by the aforementioned and duly documented weighted scholastic and/or academic performance, may not exceed a 2.3.

Bonus points may be added to the base value through proven volunteer work and/or special study-related achievements and/or special challenges. To be eligible for funding, at least 0.4 bonus points must be achieved.

During the selection procedure, the total value of an application is calculated from the base value minus the bonus points achieved. An overall value is calculated in this way for all eligible applications, which in turn results in a ranking.

Your position within the ranking is now the deciding factor as to whether you are eligible for funding. The 18 applicants with the lowest overall scores will be granted Deutschlandstipendiums.

Information about the selection process is posted in advance on this website. The scholarship guidelines are linked for perusal.
