DAAD-Project: Sustainability in textile practice: Article from the Uzbek delegation
Step forward to strengthen the Uzbek and German educational relationship
A group of teachers and students from Namangan State University, from Uzbekistan successfully participated in felting workshop seminar which held at the department of textil and mode at the Flensburg University, on March 11-17, 2016. This workshop organized within the project "Developing the intercultural relationship through learning the felting practices". The main purpose was to develop felting product prototypes and adjust for market. Uzbek students presented their products and worked on further improve the design with German and Turkish fellows. The seminar provided multicultural experiences for both students and teachers. Because Uzbek students hosted by German students during the seminar days. This gave Uzbek students great opportunity to understand the German culture, traditions, student's way of life, family's life, tasting of German foods, and etc. Uzbek and German students exchanged a lot of ideas and thoughts which leads to understand each other culturally and ethically.
The relationship between Namangan State University (NamSU) and Flensburg University will continue not only within the above mentioned project but also with other collaborative activities. Pulatkhon Lutfullayev, head of the International Office of NamSU proposes to develop the relationship further within the Erasmus+ program too. Furthermore, Mr.Lutfullayev and prof.Norbert Schutz are currently working on to prepare the memorandum of understanding to sign by both Rectors.
These collaborative activity is one of the implementation steps of improving further the international relations in Uzbek higher educational institution.
