| Gegenstand, Methoden, Inhalte/ Course contents and methods | The Master program in European Studies focuses mainly on regional development. Certain local and regional public authorities and organisations prioritise the furthering of cultural, educational and business conditions in areas to secure constant growth and development of life conditions for the population. Therefore there is a need for employees with abilities to actively participate in the preparation, support, and completion of development tasks in European regions. The two-year Master program is offered in co-operation with the University of Southern Denmark. It is an international program with students from all over the world. The Master program emphasises a comprehensive and in-depth insight into relevant European themes within the disciplines of social sciences and humanities, such as economic and political theories, European law, European ideas, and European contemporary history. The program comprises both compulsory and elective subjects. The compulsory courses are built around the three main dimensions of the program: Europe, Regions, and Development. |

Berufsfelder und weiterführende Studienmöglichkeiten/Professional prospects
| Berufsfelder/ Professional prospects | Job opportunities for graduates in European Studies are to be found within a widespread labour market in strong growth. We expect that there will be employment in areas such as regions, municipalities and co-operative organisations between business organisations and public authorities regionally, nationally, and internationally. In the future we will see a growing demand for well qualified graduates with insight into regional and European problems. There will be new jobs in public administration, private institutions, educational institutions, such as colleges and universities, business companies, including consultancy companies, and NGO's. Graduates will be able to find employment in Denmark and Germany, and also internationally, for example with the European Union, the European Council, OECD and OSCE. There will also be other job opportunities with other supranational organisations and with regional co-operation institutions working with European or transnational problems, for example the Council of the Baltic Sea States, the Nordic Council, the Central-European Initiative, the Alpine-Adriatic co-operation or similar institutions. Relevant job opportunities may also be found among the more than 150 different institutionalized or formalized cross-border co-operations in Europe. |

Studienvoraussetzungen, Bewerbung/Admission criteria, application
| Zulassungsvoraussetzungen/ Admission criteria | 1. A complete undergraduate degree in e.g. European Studies, BA in Economics, Business Administration, Social Sciences. The applicant must be in the upper third of his graduation class. 2. Since English is the language of instruction adequate proficiency in spoken and written English is required, if English is not the native language. 3. The applicant has to have taken courses in statistics or social science methods. English proficiency is proven by a university degree in an English-spoken program or a certified language certificate (e.g. TOEFL, IELTS). In doubt the admissions committee will decide if the knowledge is sufficient. |

| Empfohlene Kenntnisse/ recommended | The main field of the undergraduate degree should include subjects within the areas of 1) Research Methods, 2) Economics, and 3) Political Theory. Knowledge of the German language is preferable. |
