Two universities - one Campus

University of Applied Sciences Flensburg

With more than 4,000 students, the Flensburg University of Applied Sciences is one of the largest higher education institutions in Germany, offering courses in technology and economics. The Departments of Biotechnology and Process Engineering, Energy Technology, Renewable Energy Technology, as well as the Maritime Degree Programs (especially the training of technical and nautical ship's officers) are the biggest selling points of the northernmost University of Applied Sciences in Germany.

Whether it can also bear the title of the "northernmost university" in Germany is, however, debatable, since it is the direct neighbor of Europa-Universität Flensburg. The two universities not only share a campus, but also their cafeteria, the Sports Centre and the University Library. Students from both universities therefore enjoy the friendly climate of a close cooperation as lecturers from one university also teach at the other university.
